Youth Take Over Loddon Campaspe will create pathways to employment for young people.
Each Take Over involves a group of young people working with a skilled facilitator to deliver a project within a workplace or industry. This is work experience taken to a new level. Young people will have a great story to tell about the skills they developed, the outcome they delivered, and how they worked in a team - the key components needed in a job interview to get the job you want.
Take Overs on offer range from creating an online store, to designing a label for a wine bottle, to creating a social media campaign, to learning how to make coffee. to learning how to start your own small business. Youth Take Over Program for 2025
Cohuna
Cohuna YTO will be hosting another take over in Cohuna during 2025, Mawson's will open their doors and career opportunities to Cohuna Secondary College students. Mawson’s and the CCLLEN are presently working together to form an industry challenge the Vocational Major students at Cohuna Secondary College will support solving. Students will use this challenge to support meeting their curriculum outcome requirements of Personal Development, Literacy and Work-related Skills.
Students will complete their White Cards in Term 2 in preparation for their on-site work experience with Mawson’s in Term 3.
Kyabram
We journey back to Kyabram and St Augustine’s P-12 College to host a Take Over with the Warramunda Residential Aged Care Facility
Students will be engaging with the residence over a 10-week period to record their “Life Story” Bridging the Gap - Breaking down communication barriers between the generations.
A person's life story is a 'bio-sketch' that reminds staff about a person's life experiences. These stories will be recorded by the students using many different media platforms.
Rushworth
The beautiful rural community of Rushworth will be involved in a Take Over that will be held during Term 2. Students from Rushworth P-12 College have been set a challenge by the local Forestry : Who is Forest Fire Management Victoria & what do they do?”
Students will visit the DEECA site on Stanhope Rd, Rushworth each week during Term 2 to learn about Fire and Emergency Response, Fuel Management, Road Maintenance, Forest Thinning for Domestic Firewood and compliance processes.
