The Campaspe VET Cluster is a formal collaboration between member schools and stakeholders to foster a sense of collaboration, cooperation and coordination to support and enable Campaspe students’ educational and vocational pathways.
The Campaspe VET Cluster through its member schools, RTO’s and TAFE’s offers a wide range of Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses with the aim to have the students employed or in an apprenticeship in the vocation of their choice.
In 2025 the Campaspe VET Cluster has over 700 secondary VDSS students completing over forty VET courses with 12 RTO’s / TAFE’s. This in part is assisted by the VET Student Transport initiative.
The VET Student Transport Initiative ensures that students studying Vocational Education and Training (VET) subjects courses can access their training providers with free transport for regional and rural students. The VET Transport Fund supports families facing cost-of-living pressures and helps students achieve excellent educational and vocational outcomes.
This initiative provides tailored transport solutions, including buses, taxis, and carpooling, benefiting nearly 2000 students across 81 rural and regional schools in 2023, and has been particularly beneficial to some of our most remote and vulnerable areas, significantly increasing student VET engagement and enrolment numbers.
In 2025, the Campaspe VET Transport Initiative facilitates the transportation of over 160 students to a range of School and TAFE locations across the Campaspe VET Cluster. These students are enrolled in the various VET courses that are delivered at various locations such as: Echuca College, Bendigo TAFE - Echuca Campus, GOTAFE Wangaratta Tone Road Campus, GOTAFE Shepparton; Archer Street, Fryers Street and William Orr Campus’s.
The Campaspe VET Transport Initiative ensures equitable access to these VET courses for students residing in the Campaspe cluster. It reduces barriers related to distance and transportation availability, promoting improved student retention, engagement, and post-school pathways into further education, training, and employment.
The Campaspe VET Transport Cluster is a key component in supporting regional students’ access to vocational education opportunities. By connecting these students to a diverse range of campuses and therefore courses, it not only enhances educational participation but also contributes to local skills development and workforce readiness.
