We facilitate communication and partnerships between education providers, businesses, community organisations and individuals to assist young people to achieve their best.This enables us to provide access to opportunities for young people which broaden their experiences, expand their horizons and support their wellbeing.
Our Purpose
The predominant purpose and object of Campaspe Cohuna Local Learning and Employment Network is to support young people, particularly those who are vulnerable, to improve their engagement with education and training leading to the completion of Year 12 or its equivalent. Vulnerable young people include those who are indigenous, disabled, rurally isolated, socially and/or economically disadvantaged.
Campaspe Cohuna Local Learning and Employment Network will pursue this by:
- Facilitating communication and brokering partnerships between education providers, businesses, community organisations and individuals to assist young people to achieve their best;
- Providing access to opportunities for young people which broaden their experiences, expand their horizons and support their wellbeing;
- Developing, encouraging and facilitating collaborative approaches towards the planning and improved delivery of education and training to better accommodate the learning needs of vulnerable individuals;
- Promoting connections between education and training with industry and local and regional employment opportunities;
- Promoting, supporting encouraging the provision of information, guidance and pathways planning to enable people to make well-informed employment, education and training choices.
Image: CCLLEN partnered with the Industry Training Hub and Bendigo TAFE - Echuca Campus to deliver a 'Wet Trades' taster program.
Of the 18 students involved, 11 were from rural areas and 6 were women in non-traditional trades.
Expert tradies from local businesses also provided workshops for students in trades such as paining, tiling, plastering and bricklaying.
