Our free hire program for VIC VICE headsets continues to gain strong momentum, with schools embracing the opportunity to bring immersive career exploration directly into the classroom. The initiative has proven to be a highly engaging and accessible way for students to experience industries that are often difficult to access in person.
During Term 2, both Cohuna Secondary College and Rushworth P–12 College made the most of the program, with students exploring a range of career pathways without leaving the school grounds. The flexibility of the program also allowed students to engage with the headsets during lunchtimes, providing an informal and exciting way to deepen their understanding of different industries.
The Victorian Virtual Industry Careers Experience (VIC VICE) – ‘Your Career in Sight’ offers a suite of virtual reality experiences designed to immerse secondary students in real-world workplace environments. Through these VR scenarios, students can build valuable work readiness skills while gaining insight into priority industries across Victoria. Experiences span sectors such as health, community services, manufacturing and agriculture, allowing students to virtually step into a wide variety of roles and work settings.
This initiative is a fantastic example of how innovation can remove barriers to career exploration, helping students build aspirations and make informed decisions about their future pathways. By bringing industry experiences directly into schools, VIC VICE is opening doors and expanding possibilities for students right across the region.
