Our School to Work Readiness program kicked-off at St Joseph's College Echuca, delivered in partnership with the Echuca Moama Beacon Foundation.
These sessions complement school careers and pathways programs, and are designed to introduce students to key considerations when entering the world of work, and encompass the Mock Interview program where local business and industry representatives offer their skills and expertise to support students through what is often their first experience in a 1:1 job interview.
A key aspect of our sessions involves identifying and nurturing important workplace attributes. Through engaging activities like the marshmallow and spaghetti tower challenge, participants gain firsthand insight into the significance of teamwork and individual roles within a team dynamic.
Through practical activities and discussions, participants not only enhance their interview techniques but also develop a deeper understanding of the importance of effective teamwork in achieving common goals.
Students are also introduced to the School to Work Portal. This portal, developed by the Victorian Government Department of Education, serves as a comprehensive resource offering Work Experience, Structured Workplace Learning (SWL), and School-Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship (SBAT) opportunities across Victoria.
