Term 2 has seen remarkable growth in the Campaspe TAC L2P Learner Driver Program, with demand for support continuing to rise. In response to this increased interest, we successfully applied for additional funding to expand our capacity from 30 to 35 active learners. In fact, during May alone, we had 41 learners actively participating in the program – an incredible milestone that reflects the program’s growing impact.
Since March, nine learners have proudly graduated from the program, achieving their probationary licences and gaining greater independence. We’re so proud of their achievements and grateful to the mentors who supported them along the way.
On June 18, we hosted a mentor training session, welcoming three new volunteers to our dedicated team. Their involvement will help us to continue to meet the needs of our learners and maintain the high quality of support the program is known for.
We’re also excited to share that an in-school L2P initiative has been launched at Kyabram P-12 College. With the support of the College, nine students are now participating in the program. Two mentors are working with these learners on a rotational basis, providing driving sessions twice a week. This tailored approach ensures students can access the program in a way that fits within their school schedule.
The continued success of the L2P Program is a testament to the commitment of our mentors, the enthusiasm of our learners, and the strong partnerships we’ve built with local schools and communities.
