Kyabram Industry Day, held at the Brigidine Centre, aimed to bridge the gap between education and industry. Featuring 26 presenters from local industries and 130 students from St. Augustine’s and Kyabram P12, students were eager to explore various career paths.
Industry Day showcased 26 presenters from sectors including agriculture, technology, healthcare, science and mechanics. Each presenter shared personal career journeys and insights into their fields, offering practical advice that captivated the students. Interactive workshops further engaged participants, providing firsthand experiences in areas like paramedics, veterinary practice, Zoo keeping and aged and disability care.
A highlight of the day was an address by a guest speaker, Jayden Howe, from headspace, focusing on mental well-being in the workplace and resilience in career pursuits. The speaker's message resonated deeply with attendees, emphasizing both professional success and personal fulfillment.
Beyond knowledge exchange, Industry Day facilitated networking opportunities between students and local businesses. These connections are invaluable for understanding industry demands and exploring potential career paths, including internships and mentorships.
At the conclusion of the event students were asked to fill out feedback forms which were bundled into a box for prize draws. Feedback helps us to look at our event from many angles and make improvements for next time.
