The Junior Park Rangers (JPR) Program wrapped-up a fantastic Semester 1 with two heart-warming celebration days at Kyabram Fauna Park. Held on Monday 2 and Wednesday 4 June, these events brought together students, families, educators, and program facilitators to acknowledge the achievements and growth of our young rangers.
Over the 10-week program, students from Echuca Twin Rivers Specialist School, Kyabram P-12 College, Rochester Primary School, and Rochester Secondary College immersed themselves in hands-on environmental learning. Guided by the passionate team at Kyabram Fauna Park, students explored topics including animal care, conservation, horticulture, and sustainability.
A major highlight of this semester was the creation of a vegetable garden, a student-led project that fostered collaboration, responsibility and pride. The garden now stands as a living legacy of the students' hard work and environmental stewardship.
Celebration days were a chance for JPRs to share their projects and favourite parts of the park with special guests, with many families enjoying guided tours from their proud young rangers. It was especially heartening to see students from Rochester Primary and Secondary Schools building friendships before and after their sessions, strengthening community bonds across age groups.

Semester 2 is about to commence, and we’re excited to welcome a new group of students into this unique and inspiring program that connects education, environment and community.
