On Saturday, 15th March, Echuca Moama Discovery Day was held at the Echuca Library. We took the L2P cars, Mates Mentors information packs, and School 2 Work portal forms and set up under the trees to talk all things volunteering in our programs. It was great to be part of the event, especially with the CCLEN alongside 60 other community groups, all eager to share their initiatives with the Echuca Moama community.
There were sporting clubs, craft clubs, special interest groups, and local volunteer organizations like the SES and CFA. Craig Castree, a horticulturalist and educator, gave a brilliant talk on seed saving, sowing, and using your own garden to grow food. Local community radio, EMFM 104.70, was also there broadcasting live and interviewing stallholders throughout the day.
The atmosphere was fantastic, both inside and outside the library, with lots of information being shared and people connecting with local community groups. It felt great to be a part of such a vibrant event, helping people learn more about the volunteering opportunities and programs we offer.
