The last combined event for the year, the Pathways Pledge Ceremony was held on Tuesday 27 August in the Oak Centre at St Joseph’s College. The event was hosted well by the Beacon leaders in front of over 400 students and teachers and 50 guests. An event to inspire and assist the students to commit to furthering their schooling and finding employment, training or further education when they leave school.
The Guest Speaker, locally born and bred, Andrew Walker, shared his career journey in the AFL with all its highs and lows. He gave advice on making the most of opportunities and overcoming the challenges along the way.
It’s been a busy couple of months presenting Interview Technique Sessions with Jacq Campbell - CCLLEN Structured Workplace Coordinator to year 9 students at Moama Anglican Grammar, Echuca Specialist School and St Joseph’s College. These sessions are to prepare the students for their mock interviews including, the importance of first impressions, positive body language, employability skills and answering questions efficiently.
Mock interviews have subsequently been successfully held at Moama Anglican Grammar in August and Echuca Specialist School and St Joseph’s College in September thanks to the support from our local community members.
