Retiring L2P Coordinator Graeme Hodgens with our new Project Officer, Nikki Harris.
Many members of our local community are familiar with Graeme Hodgens, a former primary school Principal who retired from his role in 2022. However, Graeme wasn't quite ready to bid farewell to the workforce entirely. Instead, he took on the role of Program Coordinator for the L2P Learner Driver Mentor Program at Campaspe Cohuna LLEN.
During his tenure, Graeme has demonstrated remarkable dedication and support as Coordinator for the program. He has consistently gone above and beyond, dedicating extra time to field phone calls from his team of committed Mentor Drivers and meeting with young individuals and their families outside of regular hours to ensure comprehensive support throughout the application process.
After nearly 18 months of service, Graeme has decided to retire once again. However, his commitment to the program persists, as he will continue to contribute in a voluntary capacity as a Mentor Driver.
Reflecting on his experience, Graeme shares, "I came into this role believing I would be helping Learner drivers to achieve the required 120 hours needed to gain their P plates. It is so much more. A team of dedicated volunteer mentor drivers provide much more gaining driving hours. They build a relationship that in so many cases develop into a life mentor and friend and as much as a driving 'coach'. I will be joining the volunteer mentor team and look forward to working with Nikki as our new coordinator."
Campaspe Cohuna LLEN is pleased to announce the transition of leadership with the appointment of Nikki Harris. Nikki brings over two years of valuable experience as a Project Support Officer within the CCLLEN team, during which she has actively participated in both the L2P and Campaspe Youth Partnership programs.
Expressing her excitement for the new role, Nikki says, "I am thrilled to accept this opportunity and am eager to contribute to the continued success and growth of the L2P and Campaspe Youth Partnerships programs. These programs offer young people support, guidance, and mentorship which play a crucial role in their development. Graeme’s shoes will be big to fill but I am really looking forward to this wonderful and rewarding new role."
Nikki is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to embrace the rewards and challenges inherent in leading the L2P program. Her enthusiasm and dedication will undoubtedly contribute to the program's continued success.
