Transitions & Pathways Network—Professional Development

An exciting and topical day was held by the CCLLEN on Wednesday 8th December for staff from our education and associated sectors.  Mrs Melva Johnson gave the ‘Welcome to Country’.  Dr. Alf Bamblett from the Victorian Aboriginal Community Services Association presented on the topic of cultural awareness in the context of pathways planning, careers and transitions for young people.

Workshops were run by Loddon Mallee Region Department of Education and Early Childhood Development staff. Topics covered were:

  • The development of a staged response checklist for engaging and re-engaging students
  • The development of schools to services/agencies protocols
  • The school exit process / exemption process.

Benj Binks from ‘ABC Open’ spoke about an exciting new project for young writers in regional Australia.
