Delia Currie
Representing Schools
Delia, a highly experienced secondary teacher, is the pathways coordinator at St Joseph’s Catholic Secondary College in Echuca. Heavily involved in community organizations, she was for seven years a sessional supervisor with the Department of Justice. As a recipient of a rural women’s bursary, she undertook courses in youth suicide and leadership programs. Delia is the chair of the newly formed Career Network. Strengths she brings to CCLLEN: “I am keenly aware of the issues and problems through my direct link with adolescents and of course as a parent. This includes the large percentage of Koorie youth attending St Joseph’s. I am in contact with employers keen to help youth reach their potential.” Aspirations for CCLLEN: “I would like CCLLEN seen as an active and functional organization that is a ‘shaker and mover.’ I specifically hope to see a network center set up for the youth of the district. I want to help us get involved, be seen, and support projects and ideas within the community.”
