Jean Andrews
Representing Local Government
Jean is the General Manager, Community and Culture at the Shire of Campaspe. She has been employed at management level in local government for over16 years, coming to Campaspe Shire 6 years ago from Melbourne. She is responsible for the programs and services offered by the departments of Aged and Disability, Community Development, Environmental Services, Family Services and Library Services. Her Community and Culture Division employs over 200 people and has a budget exceeding $17 million. Jean holds a masters of education degree and a graduate diploma in human services administration. She sits on several boards. Strengths she hopes to bring to CCLLEN: “I have a strong knowledge of community development and planning, and am keenly interested in ensuring young people are given the optimum opportunity to maximise their strengths and to develop lifelong skills.” How she sees CCLLEN’s way forward: “It should continue to use local knowledge and networks and build partnerships that promote a choice of pathways. The CCLLEN is well placed to achieve synergy between training organisations, schools and employers to provide viable options for young people and to engage in strategic planning for the future.
