Peter Williams
Chair, CCLLEN Board and Representative, Employer Category
Peter was inaugural chair and is now in his third year in the position. The co-owner of Echuca’s Tangled Garden bookstore since 1983, Peter was a former science and SOSE teacher at Pyramid Hill and Reservoir. He then became one of Victoria’s earliest qualified school careers advisors, serving five years in that role. Strengths he hopes to bring to CCLLEN: “I have a lot of contact across the broad spectrum of industry and community groups. I am aware of the pressures on schools and teachers and on industry and employers as well. Being a local government councillor adds another perspective again.” Aspirations for CCLLEN: “Our role is to change the culture between schools and employers so that they work much more harmoniously together. One of our targets is to get more young people engaged in employment and training, without duplicating existing providers. We particular want to help those at risk because of their more challenging behaviour, who may not currently be participating.”
